A Grade Ahead’s 1st grade English enrichment classes help students to begin reading and writing with ease. Students become familiar with phonics and sight words to improve their reading fluency and comprehension skills. Students become familiar with parts of speech and begin to develop sentence writing skills. Additionally, students practice comprehension and writing skills with short stories that are aligned with a vocabulary list. Students will enhance language arts skills such as:
